About Atlas Sliced

Hello! I’m Alexa Hart, founder of Atlas Sliced. Created in October 2011 in my tiny shoebox apartment in Seoul, Atlas Sliced is a video storytelling site that features travel stories from people all over the globe. Travelers dish up their exciting adventures and also provide informative takeaways from each experience. From mainstream destinations to off the beaten paths, Atlas Sliced is for every traveler – future, past, and present. I might throw in a few briefcase to backpack interviews too.

Here I am in the desert in India.

After volunteering, working, and adventuring all over the world, I realized how much I love to listen to and tell travel stories. So, I went online, researched blogs and podcasts, and couldn’t find any super awesome video travel story sites. I found a few solid podcasts about travel in general, but nothing specific to stories. There are so many people out there who have great travel stories that have never been told in front of the camera.

Atlas Sliced is for these people.

If you have a story to tell, visit the Contact page for more details.

About the Videos

I am not a videographer by any means, and I am still learning how to make each episode more appealing. Eventually, I’ll upgrade to a good microphone to make the sound quality better. The most important part of the video is the story, not the graphics. However, if I can find a simple and non-time-consuming way to jazz up the video stories, I will do it. The key issue here is time. Even though I love technology, I’m not a huge techie.

For those curious about how I record the calls, I use Ecamm Call Recorder for Skype. I’ve been using iMovie to edit but will probably make the switch to ScrenFlow soon.
